Encaustics Cement Tiles were first introduced in Europe especially in France and Spain in the late 19th century gracing palaces, estate homes, and public buildings; it was considered a high end floor covering. It was first introduced in the United States around the start of the 20th century in California and Florida with the art deco style of architecture.

Cement tiles are hand crafted using a cement mold and mineral pigments in a hydraulic press, our encaustic pavers have a thicker pigment layer that is embedded in the cement layer (3-4 mm) which produces a tile that has a longer lifespan.

Encaustic pavers are hand crafted in decorative designs in different colors which can be modified to fit your particular project at no extra cost from our palette of colors for encaustic pavers.

Encaustic cement pavers are being used in large commercial projects by arquitects and designers as well as homeowners due to their durability and versatility to accommodate different architectural styles from Mediterranean, Spanish, French, Classical and Contemporary.

Encaustic cement tiles can be used both outdoors and indoors, but there are not frost proof. They are suitable for commercial and residential projects

There could be a variation in size and color in our Encaustics as these are hand crafted products and the colors are natural mineral pigments.  Therefore there could be a difference in sample orders matching future orders.

Please order 5%-10% extra pavers for installation cuts.

After receiving your order please check for color and quantity and keep in a dry area until they are installed and properly sealed with a penetrating sealer and a surface sealer. The product might have chipped edges, and nicks and variations in texture as this is a natural product.
